Dancin' Barefoot in the Park, on July 14, 2012, is one of those small town festivals not to be missed.
The event is held at Cousins Park in Peachland, with gates open at noon as the day starts with the Teen talent completion. At 4 p.m. Pappa Wheely takes the stage, followed by Cod Gone Wild at 5:30, Out of Eden at 6:15 and Devon Coyote at 7:30 p.m.
The headliners for the event are Kenny Shield and Streetheart with their performance starting at 8:45 p.m.
It was founded in 2007 by Terry MacGillivray, a renowned Elvis Tribute Artist, who wanted an outdoor concert for local talent and for everyone to enjoy a rockin’ concert. Sadly, Terry MacGillivray passed away suddenly in 2008. His wife Valerie MacGillivray and daughter, Patricia Cheyne decided to keep Terry’s dream alive and incorporate their own visions for Dancin’ Barefoot.
Now, in 2012, the event is bigger and better than ever. Teen talent competitions, an evening of smokin' hot performers, vendors and the summer must have: the beer garden, are all part of the day's events.
